Student Wellbeing and Leadership

At Seaford Rise, wellbeing is an essential component of daily life and it is the responsibility of the whole school community. The school adopts a proactive approach that teaches the ‘Three Wave Model’ that teaches and supports student wellbeing by building their capacity in becoming resilient young people.

The school has a whole of school approach through the teaching of social and emotional programs. These are supported by the school’s ‘Procedure for Student Behaviour’ to ensure good order including respect is maintained within and beyond the classroom.

Students from Years 3-6 are encouraged to apply for formal leadership positions each year for the Student Representative Council or to lead their sport house as a House Captain. Less formal leadership opportunities are afforded to students such as recycling leaders, sport equipment monitors and school garden attendants. Additionally, all students are involved in a ‘buddy classroom’ program.
